I sat down with my Principal Dr. Melissa Wilbanks of Atkinson County High School. Below you will find an outline of our interview together.

1 AP The AP at Atkinson County High School serves as the instructional leader within the school along with fulfilling the daily responsibilities of an efficiently run school-i.e. discipline, CTAE director, gifted coordinator, purchase requisitions, LEA, attendance, school safety, RTI, constant monitoring, TKES, various duties and meetings, athletic events, new teacher meetings, extra-curricular events, school nutrition employees, alternative school/ISS programs, building/campus upkeep.

Describe your role/routine as a Principal on a daily basis?
-Liaison between the school, community and superintendent, control all school budgets, analyze assessment data, monitor graduation rate, instructional leader of the school along with fulfilling the daily responsibilities of an efficiently run school setting- i.e. discipline, monitor enrollment and FTE, LEA, attendance, school safety, school council, leadership team, RTI, HR management, TKES/LKES,, various duties and meetings, athletic events, new teacher meetings, extra-curricular events, school nutrition employees, alternative school,/ISS program, building/campus upkeep.
How do you create school culture
-Living out my daily motto: "Let us lead by serving others"
How do you continue to build a culture in the school with current staff members?
-Servant Leadership, value tradition, build leadership capacity among capable faculty and staff (i.e. shared leadership). Utilization of teacher strengths
